C4's Tower Block of Commons

MPs leaving Westminster to live in tower blocks? This strange and inspired show was created by Love Productions and was edited by Blueberry's Nic.

Broadcast on Monday 1 February at 9pm on Channel 4 and continuing for a month, Tower Block of Commons will follow the lives of four MPs who travel to estates in the UK to see the harsh reality of gangs, drug addiction, poverty, crime and unemployment. This show is going to challenge both the MPs and probably our own expectations of politics. It will certainly challenge our conception of 'reality shows'

Nancy Banks-Smith of The Guardian says "Tower Block is a tribute to the backbone of the residents and a jolly good joke at MPs' expense. It runs for the month. Try to catch it."

The Secret Life of Chaos for BBC

This prestigious and intelligent film broadcast last Sunday on BBC4.

Blueberry's talented Leigh cut the film last year but because the BBC were so pleased with the film they decided to build an entire season around it!

The documentary investigates how chaos theory can explain the natural world around us and how the complex systems we live in emerged from stardust.

If you missed the broadcast you can still see a clip here.

I Shouldn't Be Alive

Blueberry's Drago has been editing the series for Animal Planet.

The extremely fast-paced episodes "Crushed and Alone" and "Snow Hunters" are not for the faint hearted. These amazing tales of surviving the elements against all odds show the incredible fortitude of human nature.

They also show the excellent skill of Drago - a deft hand in the edit suite is exactly what brings these interviews and reenactments to life on the screen.

The ‘I Shouldn’t Be Alive’ series will be screened on Animal Planet and Animal Planet HD at primetime on Fridays 21:00 GMT - from Jan 15 - March 26.

See Drago's episodes on Jan 29 and March 19!

My Dream Editor for My Dream Farm

Blueberry Editor James worked with Betty on Channel 4's - My Dream Farm a series about the many people who are now quitting the urban grind for a place in the country. Presenting the series was Monty Don.

James on Cutting the Series:

The series was great to cut as it was really well shot with some amazing scenes of the great British countryside, and lots of very cute animals! We wanted to give it a very distinct feel, and we worked hard at getting the tone and style of the series right, and also to make sure their was enough of Monty to drive the stories along.

There were a lot of tough decisions in the edit about what elements we simply did not have time to cover in each episode.  Also one particular contributor was very freeform in his approach to the tasks Monty set, which left us pulling out our hair on various occassions!

James on Working at Betty:

Working on the series was really enjoyable - Betty are a great company to work for, and the team were all full of enthusiasm and encouragement.

James on Blueberry:

Working with Deborah and Blueberry was, as ever, brilliant!  Well organised and super efficient in every way, and made everything very easy.

Thanks James and congratulations on a job well done.

You can watch My Dream Farm on Thursday 21 January 8pm on Channel 4
